Fresno Pacific University’s Master of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education

Fresno Pacific University’s Master of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education is fully accredited by WASC, 100% online, and accelerated. The physical education emphasis provides students with a broad understanding of the current physical education practices and supplies the tools necessary to develop standards-based physical education programs. Students can complete the program in either 14 or 17 months. It is designed to allow physical education teachers to work full-time and complete their degree.

University of Central Missouri--Master of Science in Physical Education and Sport Science -Specializing in Athletics & Sports Business Administration

This program is offered entirely online through the Department of Health and Human Services, which is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Through coursework, internships, and/or research, graduates will demonstrate creative thinking, problem solving, and independent study skills. Students will apply theoretical concepts of sport administration and management in a practical setting. They will also conduct research that contributes to the creation, expansion, and/or application of knowledge as well as demonstrate an understanding of an area of specialization. Graduates of this program find positions in physical education, athletics, coaching, business, health promotion, athletic training and sports medicine, fitness/wellness, intramurals, and/or recreation to name a few.

Canisius College Online Masters PE Degree

This program is designed for physical education professionals who already possess initial or provisional teaching certification in physical education. This program is ideal for coaches and others with demanding schedules who need to balance work family, and continuing their education. The Master of Science/Education degree in Physical Education meets the master's degree requirement for permanent or professional certification in the state of New York.

Central Washington University Online Program

The Department of Physical Education, School and Public Health offers online graduate programs leading to the Master of Science. Two major areas of specialization at the master's degree level are available: (1) Health and Physical Education, and (2) Athletic Administration. Both degrees are offered online during the academic year and on campus for two weeks each summer.

Florida State University Online MS Degree

The Teacher Education Master of Science (M.S.) Program in Physical Education is offered both on-campus and as a distance learning program, which allows students to complete the program entirely online. These programs are designed for those who are certified physical education teachers or those who hold a teaching certificate in another content area. Course content and experiences are focused on preparing individuals to plan,implement,evaluate, and conduct research in physical education program and curriculum development and instructional strategies in school settings. Montana State University online courses in sport science

"Sport Physiology" (HHD 550-01), 3 graduate credits, fully online. This science-based course examines the human body's response to sport training and performance and is ideal for students and professionals in exercise science, kinesiology, health and human development, athletic training and coaching, and allied health programs. Participants will study the muscular, neuromuscular, cardio-respiratory, and endocrine systems during physical performance; and examine nutrition, ergogenic aids, body composition, weight control, temperature regulation, and other aspects of athletic training and sports conditioning. Students will also use virtual laboratory experiences to study basic sport testing techniques.

"Sport Nutrition" (HHD 551, 3 graduate credits, fully online). Current sport nutrition knowledge in a science-based course. Learn about carbohydrate, fat, protein, mineral, and vitamin metabolism and function; popular ergogenic aids and sports performance; nutritional quackery in sport; current nutritional recommendations for improved physical performance; fluid and electrolyte needs, use, function, and loss during sport performance; calculation of energy intake, expenditure, and needs for athletes; thermoregulation, fluid balance, and rehydration; and nutritional analyses and consultation techniques.

“Sport Psychology” (HHD 552, 3 graduate credits, full online) This is a graduate level, science-based course designed toward coaches, sport and exercise or psychology professionals, and other allied health fields, to enhance understanding of sport psychology for optimal sport training and performance. The course is taught entirely online via textbook and psychological assessment assignments. Topics will cover the current body of sport psychology knowledge associated with the basic concepts, behavioral principles, and history of sport psychology; anxiety, arousal, and intervention; motivation, leadership, cohesion, and audience effects; aggression and violence in sport; selected populations including ethnicity, gender, high risk, youth, and elite performance; coaching psychology; as well as acquaint students with personality and psychological assessment techniques used in sport.
