"Sid Shuffle" WHOLE SCHOOL Assembly Surprise!

This dance made a a memory that will not soon be forgotten at our school! Use this dance to UNITE your school at an assembly, football or basketball game, or any other event where you want to make an impact!

I began by teaching the "Sid Shuffle" to my Elementary Students. My "gameplan" was to introduce to to my 5th Graders first. Have you ever tried to teach a dance to 5th Grade boys? Well, my plan was to tell them that "5th Graders GET to teach the WHOLE Elementary a new dance!" It worked! I taught the 5th Graders and they helped me teach some of the younger classes. The whole Elementary learned it, and it was so easy!

Our School is 3k - 12th. I approached our principal with much enthusiasm and asked if at our next assembly, we could do this dance as a school...all together...but as a SURPRISE to the Elementary Students! I asked if I could teach the Seniors in homeroom one day, and they, in turn, would teach the dance to the whole Middle School and High School. My principal agreed, and again, with much enthusiasm, I approached the Seniors and asked for their help! They agreed, and learned the dance. A couple days later, the whole Middle School and High School gathered in the gym and the Seniors taught the dance! It was so great.

Two days later, we had an all school assembly. Here is the You Tube Video. Our school won $25,000 and the first part of the video is that, so go to the 5:00 mark in the YouTube video. At this point, our principal asks the Middle and HIgh School Students to go back to class and asks the Elementary Students to stay in place. Well, instead of going to class, the Middle/High Students walk on the gym floor and the music starts and they start dancing the Sid Shuffle!!!! After about 20 seconds, I stop the music, and our principal asks the Elementary Students, "DO YOU KNOW THIS DANCE?!!" and they scream "yes!" Our Principal tells them to to come down and join a big kid!!! The rest of the video is the WHOLE SCHOOL - 3k through seniors in High School doing the "Sid Shuffle" TOGETHER.
